Kaneka Nutrients Virtual Tour

Kaneka Nutrients

Our 47 acre facility is located just outside of Houston, Texas and maintained by approximately 75 employees. Dietary ingredient production operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Security is tightly managed through a system of access gates, key badge points, and video cameras. Kaneka Nutrient's quality control process is implemented at every step of manufacturing and integrated with the security management. Quality is not just a tagline, it's our reputation. Kaneka Nutrients adapts the philosophy of "kaizen" which is Japanese for "continuous improvement." This facility produces both Kaneka Q10® and Kaneka Ubiquinol.

Bio Lab

Kaneka Ubiquinol and Kaneka Q10® are cultivated from yeast. Our scientists have isolated a proprietary strand that is identical to the CoQ10 and Ubiquinol your body naturally produces. Each step of the cultivation process is monitored and tested for quality. The product passes through a 0.2 µm filter to remove any contaminants.

Fermenting Pod

Once the yeast has been cultivated, it is placed in a portable fermenting pod to be transferred to the fermenting tanks. The temperature controlled pods are only accessible through an authorized key badge ensuring purity and security. The yeast is then fermented in large capacity tanks using a proprietary method and monitored in our state-of-the-art control room.

Control Room

The Quality Assurance team monitors every step of the manufacturing process from the control room. These highly trained technicians quickly respond and minimize any potential problems.

Processing Building

The fermented yeast is purified and crystallized before it is dried. It then goes through a 250 µm sieving process to screen out any cross contaminants. Each step of the processing is tightly monitored and tested for quality assurance.

Testing for Contaminants

Samples are tested from each step of manufacturing process. A lab technician examines a sample of Kaneka Q10®.

Packaging and Shipping

The final product undergoes a final round of quality testing before they are bagged in the clean room to ensure no contaminants are allowed to enter. Temperature, humidity, and atmospheric gases are strictly controlled to maintain the integrity of the products. Kaneka ingredients are then shipped in bulk to manufacturers across the globe to be formulated into a consumer ready product.

Consumer Product Testing

Kaneka Nutrient’s quality control process doesn’t stop when our products ship out. Kaneka Ubiquinol and Kaneka Q10® are not available directly to the end consumer, but instead are the main ingredients in many supplement products. These final products can be found online or at your local pharmacy and grocery stores. Our technicians routinely go out and purchase samples of these products right off the shelf and bring them back to the Quality Control Lab where they are tested and analyzed. Any abnormalities our quality control team identifies can be traced all the way back through the manufacturing process and back all the way to the exact yeast strand it was originally cultivated from if needed.
