Since the 1949 founding of Kaneka Corporation in Japan, Kaneka has become a global leader in fermentation technology, starting with the production of baker’s yeast. Over the years, our fermentation technologies have led to innovations in ribonucleic acid protein (RNP) and developments in Single Cell Protein.
In 1977, we achieved a major milestone with the development of Kaneka Q10®, the first naturally derived, yeast-synthesized and purified CoQ10 (ubiquinone). This vital nutrient, essential for cellular energy production, is bio-identical to the CoQ10 produced in the body, which is the all-trans isomer.
In 2007, Kaneka further cemented its leadership in the CoQ10 market by introducing the first stabilized Ubiquinol product in the U.S. After successfully submitting our New Dietary Ingredient (NDI) notification to the FDA, we launched our first partnerships with retail brands specializing in CoQ10. Today, Kaneka Ubiquinol® is featured in supplements from over 200 brands supporting areas such as cardiovascular health, healthy aging, and preconception health.
